The construction of a healthy city is an important starting point for Tongzhou District to promote the high-quality development of the sub-center of the city. In recent years，Tongzhou District has further promoted the construction of a healthy city in terms of creating a healthy environment，building a complete medical system，improving medical service capabilities，disseminating healthy culture，and promoting the development of the big health industry. In 2019，Tongzhou District officially launched the construction of a national health promotion zone，integrating the concept of health into urban development，and exploring the establishment of a long-term mechanism for health promotion work. Under the series of measures，the construction of a healthy city in Tongzhou District has achieved remarkable results. The health level of residents has been steadily improved，the residents’ environment has been continuously improved，the public health capacity has been continuously improved，the medical service capacity has been continuously improved，and the development of the health industry has been accelerated. Since 2012，Beijing has carried out the performance evaluation of the city’s health and wellness development. In 2019，Tongzhou District’s health and hygiene development performance evaluation value was 79.4 points，an increase of 15.6 points over 2012. In the past 8 years，Tongzhou District’s health and hygiene performance value growth has ranked first in the city.
