In 2021，all parties in Costa Rica are preparing for the next year’s general election. The National Liberation Party candidate Figueres is temporarily leading. Anti-corruption and competition for the remaining votes are the focus of attention. In terms of economy，economic growth is strong，the financial and banking industries are stable，and core industries are recovering，but the recovery of the tourism industry is full of variables；the trade deficit and fiscal deficit are declining，but the increase in government rigid public expenditure threatens fiscal stability. In terms of society，poverty and unemployment rates have fallen，and insufficient vaccine supply has dragged down vaccination rates. In terms of external relations，Costa Rica officially became a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development，and at the same time called on the international community to pay attention to the Haitian refugee issue.
