Developed countries are significant partners of advancing high-quality development of the BRI. Over the past few years，the involvement of developed countries has contributed to the upgrade of the BRI. The year 2021 kicked off the implementation of Shanghai’s 14^th Five-Year Plan and also witnessed Shanghai’s renewed partnership with developed countries for the BRI cooperation. Shanghai quickly adapted itself to the changing dynamics of competition under the new development paradigm with better business environment，stronger headquarter economy and higher-level of opening up. In addition to scaling up its efforts on cementing platforms and mechanisms including the annually held China International Import Expo（CIIE），Shanghai together with developed countries，has also made some progress on jointly building the Health Silk Road，the Digital Silk Road and the Green Silk Road. Looking into the future，Shanghai needs to make full use of its own advantages and unique role to further strengthen the BRI cooperation with developed countries.
