Multi-functional smart poles are digital sites that gather data from urban IOT sensing devices. Shenzhen’s multi-functional smart pole construction and operation have made great progress. Still，some obvious problems exist，such as difficult scale expansion，unified operation and maintenance，coordinated construction and intensive utilization，etc. Therefore，it is necessary to clarify the public welfare and market-oriented interface of new infrastructure，clarify the investment and construction mode，strengthen the coordination of construction，and increase the policy and regulation protection to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the new infrastructure of multi-functional smart pole construction.
