Development is the eternal pursuit and theme of human society since ancient times，and it is the master key to solve all problems. At present，under the background of the COVID-19 and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine，the economic growth advantage of emerging markets and developing economies has shrunk rapidly. The geopolitical crisis has seriously hindered the process of global development. Global challenges such as climate change，the digital divide and the food crisis are emerging one after another. The process of global development has been seriously hampered. The “global development initiative” put forward by China is at the right time. The “global development initiative” and the “Belt and Road initiative” complement each other. The “global development initiative” provides an important starting point for the implementation of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind. To effectively implement the “global development initiative”，we need to build a global partnership for development that is united，equal，balanced and inclusive；we need to adhere to the development concept of “people-centered”；efforts need to be made to solve the problems of unbalanced and insufficient development among and within countries；we need to build a global development community through cooperation in key areas.
