To reverse the deteriorating health of the oceans，the United Nations has launched the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030 at the beginning of 2021. To complement the UN’s efforts to advance the global Decade at the international level，regional Decades of the Ocean in Africa，the Pacific，Atlantic，Antarctic，and Arctic regions are also on the agenda. The next step will be to develop a roadmap for the Arctic Decade of the Ocean，with the International Council for a Scientific Arctic as the next step. The International Scientific Arctic Council（ISAC）may serve as the coordinating body for the Arctic Ocean Decade，serving as an important hub to connect the international and regional levels of the Decade. In order to contribute to the Arctic Ocean Decade，set Arctic regional scientific priorities，and lead scientific cooperation projects，the Arctic Science Ministerial and the International Council for a Scientific Arctic have decided on their own priority areas and actions for Arctic scientific research，and the United States，Norway，Finland，Iceland，France，and Japan have released new documents for their own Arctic scientific research.
