This report outlines the achievements of Central and Eastern European countries in the last 6 Summer Olympic Games and takes into account their performance in major competitions in certain sports. Seven countries，including Hungary，are selected as samples for analysis to present their achievements in competitive sports and distinctive features shown in their development history. Through the research on the competitive sports level and the successes and failures of different countries in recent years，the conditions and reasons behind them are examined. Finally，it is pointed out that the development of competitive sports in CEE countries needs to deal with issues of development systems and models as well as the relationship with the European Union.
