The cruise industry is a “gold industry floating on the golden waterway”,covering high-end equipment,finance and insurance,transportation,port operation,tourism,leisure services,commercial trade,industry city integration and many other industrial fields. It penetrates R&D design and advanced manufacturing upward,and connects tourism consumption and service management downward. The industry chain is long and there is huge synergy space. After more than ten years of innovation,exploration and development,China’s cruise economy has made great progress,created the “China speed” of international cruise economic development,and become a new driving force in Asia leading the development of the global cruise economy. As a new highlight of China’s coastal economy,the cruise economy should further give play to the environmental advantages of China’s coastal cities with relatively complete cruise economic mechanisms,a high level of internationalization and reform first,fully comply with international rules,better continue to promote the higher level of opening-up of coastal cities,promote the recovery and revitalization of the cruise economy,and build a new national card. Due to the suspension of global cruise lines caused by the COVID-19 epidemic,it has dealt a devastating blow to the world’s largest cruise market,the United States,and the market value of cruise lines has evaporated by hundreds of billions. Although it has also seriously affected the development of Chinese cruise lines,it has also provided historical strategic opportunities for Chinese enterprises to enter the cruise industry,accelerated the pace of acquisition of foreign cruise lines and ports by central enterprises such as China Merchants Group and China Communications Construction Group,and steadily promoted the construction of large domestic cruise lines in China,However,it also faces many bottlenecks that need to be solved urgently.
