In 2020,COVID-19 pandemic is overlaid with the biggest change in a hundred years,international relations are evolving at an accelerated pace,and global challenges such as major power conflicts,geopolitical games,global climate change,terrorism and extremism are becoming increasingly serious. The overall development of international law shows that global public health security issues are prominent,the shortcomings of the current international law system are frequent,peace and development are still the theme of the times,the institutional struggle over the new frontier of “sea,aviation,space and cyberspace” continues,the platforms of legal claims are polarized,and international judicial institutions are increasingly disturbed by political factors. As a responsible developing country,China has always maintained a clear-cut stand on multilateralism and a correct view of justice and interests,advocated global governance based on international law,practiced international rule of law,and made significant achievements in promoting global public health governance,innovating and developing international law concepts and principles,enriching and innovating foreign-related legislation and judicial practice,promoting the development of international law through home diplomacy,driving the change of global governance system,and developing international legal theories in China. Looking ahead to 2021,China will pay more attention to the role of international law in promoting the construction of a socialist foreign-related law system with Chinese characteristics and the change of the global public health rule of law system,accelerate the cultivation of high-quality foreign-related rule of law talents,and contribute to the promotion of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
