Towards common prosperity is based on the current social and economic conditions，as well as a certain social mentality and a certain satisfaction of the needs for a better life. Based on the two rounds of national multi-stage sample household surveys-China Social Mentality Survey in 2019 and 2020 database，this report examines the basic situation of people’s needs and experience for a better life，constructs a better life experience index，analyzes the difference characteristics of good life needs and experiences in demographical factors. This report also discusses the specific relationship between the sense of gain，social security，well-bing，national identity，social trust，social fairness，subjective social mobility，internal and external goal values，and willingness to participate in society and other social mentality indicators. On this basis，combined with the above analysis，we will discuss social policies on the improvement of people’s needs and experience for a better life，and provide suggestions for government decision-making.
