At present，the high-quality development of China’s manufacturing industry has made some achievements，but there are also problems. On the basis of reviewing the development of manufacturing industry in representative cities in China，this paper combines the real conditions of manufacturing industry in Chengdu under the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle，proposes possible approaches to the transformation of manufacturing industry in Chengdu under the new development dynamic，and considers reshaping the core department of Chengdu’s manufacturing industry by cultivating a group of specialized and sophisticated technology enterprises producing unique and novel products to inject vitality into the high-quality development of Chengdu-Chongqing region. To this end，the paper suggests that the breakthrough secured by specialized and sophisticated technology enterprises in integrated chains，capital transformation，institutional mechanism，talent reserve and policy support should be utilized to increase support to Chengdu’s specialized and sophisticated technology enterprises and upgrade Chengdu’s manufacturing industry.
