Biomedicine has always been an important industrial track competing by the areas across China. Shenzhen’s “14th Five-Year Plan” puts forward the strategic goal of building a strong biomedical city. 2020 is set to be the important node of Shenzhen’s biomedical industry. Before 2020，the city’s biomedical industry suffered from the problems such us the imbalance in the industrial structure，shortage of industrial agglomeration，insufficient industrial investment front-end layout etc. Since 2020，Shenzhen has intensively introduced a series of support policies on the biomedical industry，providing the targeted planning and guidance to explore an industrial development path with Shenzhen characteristics. Shenzhen’s experience shows that the development of the biomedical industry must clarify the positioning of the government and market entities，strengthen the link between the industrial chain，the innovation chain，the talent chain，the capital chain，and the balance between regional cooperation and regional characteristics.
