In the past 40 years，the manufacturing industries of Shenzhen have been transforming and upgrading from traditional to advanced. With the rapid expansion of industries，some prominent problems emerged including the slowdown growth in the manufacturing，increasing risk of trade friction，serious lack of original Innovation，and intense competition among neighbour regions. Since the “expansion” of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone，with the empowerment of a series of reform and opening-up policies，advanced manufacturing in Shenzhen will usher in a new period of great opportunity. Starting from the current development of Shenzhen’s manufacturing industries，this paper analyzes the new opportunities brought by the expanded Qianhai Cooperation Zone，and proposes some policy suggestions，such as to optimize the mechanism between special economic zone and local administrative zone，create a “Shenzhen-Hong Kong Advanced Manufacturing Cooperation Zone”，carry out an in-depth integration pilot for manufacturing and service industries，deepen institutional innovation along with reform and opening up；encourage joint technological innovation with Hong Kong.
