The study analyzes the relationship between the use of Internet media and the pursuits of internal and external goal-values of minors. The data of 21733 students aged 6-18 in 31 provinces in China comes from “Minors’ Digital Life and Protection Survey” in 2021. The results showed that minors generally value the intrinsic goals such as personal growth，affiliation and community feeling，and less value the extrinsic goals such as financial success，social recognition and appealing appearance. There are differences in gender，age，and urban-rural areas in the pursuit of goal value. Minors who frequently use online media such as short videos，online videos，and online games will more likely to pursue external values. This influence is more pronounced among minors in urban areas and in high school. Whereas，the impact of using microblog and reading online news on the values is pronounced among minors in rural areas and in primary school.
