Improving the barrier-free environment construction is the key task of the “14th Five-Year Plan” for the protection and development of disabled persons. The barrier-free environment construction in Guangzhou has gradually formed a relatively complete barrier-free construction system with the development of the disability cause. Through years of practice and exploration，Guangzhou has gradually explored the construction content covering the physical environment，information exchange and services，the Disabled Persons’ Federation has coordinated the working mechanism of various departments，a multi-dimensional evaluation system and a solid and powerful supervision system. The accessibility of the physical environment in Guangzhou covers a wide range，the accessibility of the information environment closely follows the development of the times，the continuous exploration of accessibility services，and the continuous increase of supervision，providing valuable Guangzhou experience for the society. However，there are still problems in Guangzhou’s barrier-free environment construction，such as the level of the rule of law needs to be improved，the development of barrier-free equipment is not yet sufficient，the normal and long-term supervision mechanism needs to be formed，the linkage and coordination of multiple subjects needs to be improved，and the concept of barrier-free needs to be widely popularized. In this regard，the article puts forward suggestions such as speeding up the top-level design of accessibility，improving the effectiveness of accessibility implementation，implementing the accessibility governance mechanism，and cultivating the concept of barrier-free culture，in order to achieve high-quality development of the barrier-free environment.
