This paper reviews the history of Internet content governance，and holds that the Party and the state have fully realized the importance of government response to public opinion since the early stage of the development of Internet platform，and have taken the initiative to carry out online political inquiry in synchronization with the news spokesman system. After more than 10 years of efforts，preliminary results have been achieved. With the progress of science and technology，Chinese governments at all levels have turned from the initial online political inquiry to a more comprehensive online political management. Online governance embodies the transformation of the country’s governance system and governance capacity modernization，promotes the media integration of grassroots party committees and governments，highlights the ability to solve practical problems，correct the tendency of formalism，promotes community construction and sharing，and contributes to rural revitalization. The paper also puts forward some suggestions on the improvement of network governance.
