Social psychosocial assistance work is an important content of China，government and various organizations，and major public emergencies have the characteristics of suddenness，urgency，and social impact. Therefore，it is necessary to build a social psychological assistance system for major public emergencies. This study explored the construction of the psychosocial assistance system for major public emergencies in Beijing through questionnaire surveys，data retrieval and text analysis，analyzed its existing problems，and provided policy recommendations. Study 1 found that some areas in Beijing had taken active attempts in the construction of the social psychological assistance system for major public emergencies through text analysis of the data，but there is room for improvement. On the whole，the construction of the psychological assistance system is mostly concentrated on major public health events，and there are problems such as relatively simple software construction，poor stability of the relying platform，and relatively general policy regulations. Study 2 conducted a questionnaire survey of 2232 residents and found that the publicity of Beijing’s psychosocial assistance system should be strengthened，and the superior resources should be tilted to the people in order to strengthen the people’s sense of gain. Generally speaking，the existing system should be improved in terms of scope expansion，rich content，platform support，and policy guarantee to enhance the preventiveness and effectiveness of the existing system.
