This paper investigated 2289 permanent residents in Beijing to understand the attitude towards garbage classification，their understanding of garbage classification knowledge，and their evaluations and suggestions on garbage classification after the implementation of garbage classification policy. The results showed that：Most Beijing residents believed that garbage classification is beneficial to the environment and can produce economic benefits. They also believed that they have a better understanding of garbage classification and will stick to it. Beijing residents attitude was neutral about the current situation，current policies and publicity of garbage classification in Beijing. In addition，this paper collected 3404 public original Weibo and comments on “garbage classification” by using Python 3.6.5. After data cleaning，870 texts were retained. After analysis，Beijing residents believed that the problems existing in garbage classification include “lack of garbage classification facilities”，“insufficient garbage classification management”，“people’s weak awareness of garbage classification” and “lack of garbage classification knowledge”. Based on these types of problems，this paper put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions in combination with the Regulations of Beijing Municipality on the Administration of Domestic Waste.
