With the establishment of the first batch of national parks in 2021，the construction and development of national parks in China has accelerated. The high-quality development of national parks is closely related to the construction and development of the gateway community. The gateway community is the living and industrial agglomeration space for the national park and its surrounding residents，which can also provide services and recreational activities for national parks visitors. The development of the gateway community of national parks in China is currently at the initial stage，so the high-quality construction of the gateway community is one of the most pressing issues to solve. On the basis of reviewing the development status and characteristics of the gateway community of national parks at home and abroad，this paper summarizes the problems existing in the gateway community of China. Taking Jackson Town，the gateway community of Yellowstone-Grand Teton National Park as a case，this study summarizes its development experience from the aspects of community planning，ecological conservation，economic development，and cooperative management with national parks. It puts forward five enlightenments for China：scientific planning，high attention to ecological conservation，economy driven by tourism，community empowerment，as well as marketing and publicity.
