The development of urban rail transit in China maintained rapid growth in 2021，and the length of new operational lines is 1237.1 km. The total scale of operational lines was over 9000 km，and increased by 15.5% over 2020. The total number of stations was 5343 by the end of 2021. The passenger boarding was 23.69 billion，increased by 34.7% over 2020，and passenger journey by 14.63 billion and 33.7% respectively. The industrial management system has been continuously improved，and significant achievements have been made in enterprise management and technological innovation. The report reviewed the development of urban rail transit operation in 2021，and the indicators of passenger boarding，passenger journey，passenger intensity，transfer coefficient and train delays were analyzed. The policies and related technical standards were summarized，and the innovation of enterprise organization and operation maintenance were discussed. Finally，the future development hotspots of urban rail transit operation management was put forward.
