High quality development is not only the main keynote of China’s economic development in the coming period，but also the way to realize the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei（BTH）region. Based on the rich connotation of high-quality development，this report analyzes the high-quality development status of the BTH region from 2011 to 2020 from the aspects of real development and empirical evaluation，and reveals the high-quality development situation，characteristics and synergies of 13 cities in the BTH region. As a new economic paradigm，digital economy is profoundly changing the current economic development model and becoming a new driving force for high-quality regional development. This report analyzes the driving mechanism of digital economy to promote high-quality development from both direct and indirect levels，and validates it with the BTH region as an example. The results confirm the direct driving effect of digital economy on high-quality development in the BTH region and the mediating effect of digital economy on high-quality development through the upgrading of production efficiency and industrial structure. The report proposes that we should fully rely on important platforms and carriers to promote the “integration” of industrial digitalization and digital industrialization as the main focus，vigorously develop digital trade，improve the digital economy development ecosystem，cultivate and strengthen the digital economy，and then promote the high-quality development of BTH region.
