University ranking，to some extent，making up for the serious asymmetry between higher education information and social demand，has become an important way for society to understand universities. Analyzes the development status and internal and external development environment of Henan private higher education，summarizing the ranking of domestic comprehensive competitiveness of Henan private higher education from three university rankings，it discusses the main factors restricting the implementation of connotative development of Henan private higher education，and constructs the strategic framework of connotative development of Henan private higher education. From the perspective of university evaluation，it is found that although the comprehensive ranking of Henan private colleges is relatively high in China，their comprehensive competitiveness is declining year by year. To construct the strategy of diversified financing mechanism，to carry out the marriage and marriage between the famous colleges in our province and the higher level private colleges in our province，and to carry out preferential policies，should be an important way to promote the connotative development of private colleges in our province and to establish a high level private universities.
