Since the beginning of the 20^th century，when Dunhuang was known to the world again，Dunhuang has always been accompanied by volunteer spirit. Generations of visionary people volunteered to settle down in the desert and guard the Mogao Caves，giving birth to the Mogao spirit of “steadfastness，dedication，courage，and enterprise”. In the new era，Dunhuang Academy has formed a multi-structure，multi-attribute，and multi-skill volunteer service system. Culture volunteers display rich and brilliant Dunhuang culture to the public through high-quality service，which effectively alleviates the contradiction between the increasing social and cultural needs of the audience and the shortage of museum service. Influenced by the Mogao spirit，volunteers have forged a voluntary culture with firm culture consciousness and culture confidence as the core，becoming a new medium for Dunhuang culture，and writing a new chapter on the protection and promotion of Dunhuang caves culture.
