Since 2019，China’s public libraries have been strengthening the organization and system construction of volunteer service，improving the management and service models，innovating various volunteer activities，improving theoretical research，and actively pursuing the fields of individualized services，integrated development，and brand building. The development of volunteer service in public libraries should be scaled up，normalized，specialized，digitalized，and integrated in the future.
