In recent years，Relations between China and Malaysia have developed well and their cooperation in various fields has progressed smoothly，which has brought tangible benefits to the development of the two countries under the background of jointly building the “21^st- Century Maritime Silk Road”. This paper studies the current situation，characteristics and influencing factors of the cooperation in the field of security between the two countries in recent years. Through the analysis，we can see that both the traditional security and non-traditional security cooperation between China and Malaysia are relatively smooth. However，we the cooperative relations between the two countries are still disturbed by some factors. The most important are the international and regional situation，the domestic situation of Malaysia，cultural factors and overseas Chinese. These factors are “double-edged sword” for the cooperation between China and Malaysia in all fields，including the security field. For the two countries，it is necessary to make joint efforts to make these factors become the “catalyst” of security，rather than the “separation wall”. The epidemic also puts forward new requirements for the security cooperation，that is，the security cooperation should meet the fundamental interests of the peoples.China and Malaysia should jointly face all kinds of challenges and build a community of common destiny，which will make the security cooperation become an example of China and ASEAN countries.
