The “Outline of the Construction Plan of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle” issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Central Council formally proposes “exploring a new path of green transformation development”，which marks a new stage of green development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. This report firstly reviews the historical evolution of the green development strategy of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle since the new century，and divides it into three stages：ecological environmental protection，green transformation and comprehensive green transition；secondly，it systematically summarizes the effectiveness of green development in the Chengdu-Chongqing region，and puts forward four typical models of green city，green production，green life and green trade；finally，the deep-seated problems of concept，dynamics and governance behind the green development in Chengdu-Chongqing region are analyzed in depth with regard to the problems of inputs，innovation，methods and institutions. In the future，this report suggests that the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle should change its thinking and make strategic deployment for all-round transformation and green development；improve the innovation system of green development in all aspects to inject momentum for industrial upgrading；promote the innovation of green development model and upgrade the experience and practice into system；proceed with regional governance authority and responsibility，promote cross-regional industrial collaboration，and push forward the green development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle to a new level.
