The “carbon” problem as a result of climate change has already become a key challenge for the energy sector，begging the question of how to reform the energy supply chain. A variety of responses are required，including the advancement of transition policy，energy market reform，clean technology innovation，and public awareness-raising. By analyzing the characteristics，policy environment，and market development of green finance，this article attempts to study the impact it could have on the energy sector. This report considers green finance as a key solution to low carbon transition of energy companies. Therefore，policymakers should strengthen financial mechanisms such as emissions trading，credit，bond and ESG investment，as a way to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.
