Cases at home and abroad show that hosting the Olympic Games is an important opportunity to promote urban internationalization. Through the horizontal and vertical comparison of the evaluation indicators of the urban internationalization，this study clarifies the three main aspects that Beijing needs to improve，namely livability，environment and cultural exchanges. Taking people and policies as the center，Beijing should make good use of the Winter Olympics heritage，achieving a higher level of urban internationalization by applying advanced science and technology，promoting urban living environment，optimizing the aggregation of high-end resources，and enriching the cultural elements.
