Digital community construction is a key way for Beijing to improve the level of refined urban management，a key way to improve community governance and service capabilities in the capital region，and an important method for Beijing to build a global digital economy benchmark city. This paper studies the software and hardware foundation and supporting policies of digital community construction in Beijing，analyzes the progress of digital community construction，and proposes problems such as “data chimney”，application redundance，common design insufficiency，and data precipitation. In response to the problems and in combination with Beijing’s strategic goal of building a global digital economy benchmark city，this paper points out the key direction of digital community construction：strengthening top-level design，strengthening demonstration，carrying out data mining，and launching key projects；it suggests to promote digital industry innovation by digital community construction.，accelerate the application of new technologies and strengthen network security.
