As an important form of artistic expression，documentary film has received increasing attention. The Documentary committee of the Guangdong Provincial Cultural Society，as the first professional documentary committee in the country established under the guidance of the provincial cultural society，has been actively exploring the local cultural resources and focusing on the audio-visual writing of the local customs and people of Southern Guangdong. This paper analyzes and discusses ways to tell the story of Southern Guangdong in the artistic form of documentary film from aspects of choosing the right topic accurately，implementing techniques properly and realizing internationalization effectively.
