Guangdong is the birthplace and sailing point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. The forts in Nansha，Guangzhou and Humen，Dongguan are the essence of China’s modern coastal defense history and culture. It is suggested that the historical and cultural resources of Nansha coastal defense should be fully utilized to build a national cultural park of coastal defense sites in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area，and at the same time，grasp the opportunity to vigorously build and upgrade centralized coastal defense resources such as Nansha Forts，activate and integrate fragmented resources along the coastline to construct a golden waterfront in the Nansha Free Trade Zone，and further form a bright cultural business card in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
