The “revitalization and utilization” of intangible cultural heritage is to consider intangible cultural heritage as a cultural resource，and through innovative transformation and rational use，new forms of cultural products and services can be generated. In the past two decades，from the period of consolidation of the foundation of intangible cultural heritage protection，to the period of strengthening the vitality of inheritance and the period of systematic protection，the revitalization and utilization of intangible cultural heritage in Guangzhou has gradually become a major trend. From the practice of 2021，the revitalization and utilization of intangible cultural heritage in Guangzhou can be summarized into five paths：refining and transformation based on in-depth academic research；technology and intangible heritage empowering each other；introducing design，animation，film and television elements for cultural creativity；integrating intangible heritage into youth aesthetic education；and integrating intangible heritage into urban landmarks. At present，although the revitalization and utilization of intangible cultural heritage in Guangzhou has become a great spectacle，there are still problems such as shallow level，homogenization and imbalance. It is necessary to further implement the principles of system，righteousness and innovation，ethics and precise measures to integrate intangible cultural heritage more fully into the urban development of Guangzhou and let the results of intangible cultural heritage protection better benefit the Guangzhou people.
