In 2021，with the joint efforts of all sectors of the industry，the marketization process of China’s new energy vehicle industry was further accelerated by taking advantage of continuous improvement in the consumption environment. Major countries in Europe and America have also strengthened their strategic positioning for the development of new energy vehicles，extended fiscal and taxation support for new energy vehicles and emphasized improving the stability and competitiveness of local industrial chain，which effectively promotes the substantial growth of the global new energy vehicle market. China’s new energy vehicle industry has achieved unexpected development. The annual sales reached a new high of 3.521 million new energy vehicles and China has ranked the first in the world for seven consecutive years. The market penetration rate has increased significantly to 13.4%. Electrification and intelligent technologies were upgraded alternately and the integration was accelerated. The commercialization of autonomous driving technology was implemented in many places，while more non-industry enterprises were attracted to join the competition. China’s power battery，electric drive and raw material industries have further consolidated its dominant position in development，while the automotive chip industry also make great efforts to seek breakthroughs. The coverage and density of charging infrastructure have been significantly improved，while swapping model has shown an explosive development trend. Driven by the national double-carbon strategy，the policy environment for new energy vehicles has been continuously optimized，gradually forming a policy atmosphere that is highly inclusive，encourages innovation and supports strong policies. Under the combined effect of multiple factors，the competitiveness of China’s new energy industry has jumped to the second in the world. Looking forward to the future，China shall further deepen reform and encourage innovation，insist on expanding domestic demand and stabilizing external demand for new energy vehicles，strengthen the independent and controllable industry chain of new energy vehicles，accelerate integration into the global market and continue to promote high-quality development of the industry.
