Since 2011，the Guangzhou’s investment abroad has developed rapidly，which has played a positive role in stimulating the local economic and social development. Macro data show that from 2011 to 2020，Guangzhou’s overseas investment has grown rapidly，and investment methods have been diversified. In terms of location，an investment layout centered on Asia and radiating to the world has been formed，especially the closing development of investment relations with Hong Kong，the RCEP region and emerging economies along the “Belt and Road”；in terms of industrial layout，business investment is prominent，manufacturing investment and high-tech cooperation are rising，and resource investment promotes green development. The survey conducted on key enterprises shows that the competitiveness of Guangzhou enterprises in the international market has been enhanced in an all-round way，and that the efficiency of resource utilization has strengthened the domestic circulation. The quality of production capacity cooperation and participation in international circulation has been greatly improved. Vivid practice of building a community with a shared future for mankind are provided. However these enterprises still face some problems. To promote the high-level development of Guangzhou’s OFDI under the new situation，it is necessary to promote the establishment of a strategic system，to implement the global industrial layout optimization strategy，the investment entity’s joint development strategy，the docking platform function strategy，and the comprehensive management service strategy to escort the company’s foreign investment and cooperation.
