The COVID-19 pandemic continued to profoundly affect the world situation. The development of global cities has been greatly dragged down，but they have also shown strong development resilience and have become the “leader” in the recovery of the world economy. Global Cities Index of A.T.Kearney，Global Power City Index of MMF，Global Financial Centers Index and Global Innovation Cluster Ranking of WIPO have respectively updated and released research reports. The basic data covers the first year of the global epidemic，which directly reflects the impact of the epidemic on major cities around the world，and clearly reveals the recovery choices of different cities. Global urban development must achieve a balance between epidemic prevention and sustainable development，attach importance to the application of technological innovation，and choose a development path that suits its own characteristics.
