The low carbon development report of the world iron and steel industry focuses on the theme of global low carbon development of iron and steel, analyzes the production status of the world’s representative countries iron and steel, and discusses the CO2 emission trend of the world’s top ten countries with crude steel output. It is found that (1)The CO2 emission concentration of the world’s iron and steel industry is high, the CO2 emissions in most countries tend to be flat after an upward trend;(2)Several world’s crude steel producing countries showed a downward trend in carbon emissions per ton of steel and consumption of blast furnace gas and proportion of blast furnace steelmaking, indicating that those countries are improving carbon emissions by adjusting production mode and optimizing energy structure;(3)The empirical study using the data of 30 countries from 1990 to 2019 show that the increase of crude steel and urban population will lead to the increase of carbon dioxide emissions from the iron and steel industry; The expansion of trade openness and the improvement of financial development level will reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the iron and steel industry; The relationship between per capita GDP and carbon dioxide emission of iron and steel industry presents an inverted U-shaped relationship.
