Laibin set a record in its economic development in the past decade in 2020 by improving its business environment and making achievements in solving debt risks，eliminating poverty and reducing carbon emission，improving people’s wellbeing. However，challenges still exist including the small economic volume，heavy debt for its government，the difficulty of industry transformation and upgrade because of its relatively weak technological innovation capacities and insufficient supporting facilities. The poor coordinated rural and urban development and inadequate protection of people’s livelihood are another challenges. Therefore，the development of the more open Sanjiangkou New District will be promoted in the future and efforts should be made in strengthening the construction of the industry development platform and increasing investment in infrastructure and project.
