Since the 13^th Five-Year Plan，the scale of strategic emerging industries in Nanning has expanded rapidly，with leading enterprises in this industry introduced and nurtured，construction of platforms for technological innovation yielding results and innovation capacity of enterprises significantly improved. However，challenges remain prominent，such as precarious industrial foundation，weak innovation capacity，lack of talent and funds，and policies and regulations yet to be improved. In the future，steps should be taken to expand and strengthen the new IT industry and create a digital economy demonstration zone for ASEAN；concentrate on bolstering the new energy automobile industry and build a new energy industry cluster；upgrade and improve the quality of the bio-industry and build a bio-pharmaceutical industry cluster；develop and expand the high-end equipment manufacturing and promote intelligent transformation and upgrading；advance in-depth development of new material industry and promote environmental protection industries；accelerate the construction of innovation platforms and promote the development of industrial clusters.
