The central tasks of the development of the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt（Guangxi）are to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality and to accelerate high-quality industrial development，which need to be carried out in a well-coordinated way to ensure the sound and sustainable social and economic development. However，energy-intensive industries still have higher shares of economy in the Pearl River-Xijiang River Economic Belt（Guangxi）and there are currently three challenges facing this region：insufficient energy consumption quota for the acceleratedundertaking of relocated industries，weak support from emerging industries to energy-intensive industries，low energy consumption base and limited space for energy restructuring. In the future，greater efforts shall be made to Introduce increment from improved stock，Improve the adaptability of the energy structure，and promote coordinated development across river basins so as to solve the mismatch between the goal of achieving carbon peak and neutrality and the high-quality development of the industry.
