With the strong support of national policies，the endeavors of multi-disciplinary talents，and the increasing demand for high-quality medical services，the cutting-edge technology of surgical robots has thrived. Surgical robots can not only assist surgeons in achieving more precise and dexterous operations，but also reduce patients’ trauma and shorten postoperative recovery time. At present，mainstream surgical robots can be divided into keyhole surgical robots，and orthopedic and neuro surgical robots. Although surgical robots were firstly developed abroad，various research institutions and high-tech companies in China are facing the technical challanges and developing domestical surgical robots with independent intellectual properties. This report summarizes the current development status of surgical robots in academia and industry，in order to provide readers with a comprehensive snapshot. Development of surgical robots will not only improve people’s healthcare，but also stimulate the development of the Chinese medical device industry，and play an important role in the newly proposed domestic circulation.
