Resources and influence factors vary among regions，which determined the unique developing competitiveness of wellness tourism. Based on the Porter’s Diamond Model，this article built an evaluation system for the competitiveness of Yunnan’s wellness tourism. The system contains six primary index and 46 quantitative indicators. The tourism industry competitiveness from 16 different areas in Yunnan province has been analyzed and evaluated via the system. The results show that the competitiveness of regional wellness tourism industry can be improved only by the combined effects of the following attributes：production factors，demand conditions，related and supporting industries，the development of enterprise，government support and proper opportunities. On this basis，the corresponding countermeasures are put forward in order to provide beneficial reference for correctly formulating the development strategy of regional health tourism industry.
