Based on the main characteristics of Shenzhen’s elderly population，this paper clarifies the current situation of Shenzhen’s smart elderly care development from the aspects of policy formulation，platform construction，technology application，and the advantages of the local information technology industry. On the whole，Shenzhen’s smart old-age care is still in its infancy，facing many problems in overall planning，service connection，standard construction，talent training and industrial layout，which is not conducive to the sustainable development of Shenzhen smart elderly care services. According to the “Action Plan for the Development of Smart Health and Elderly Care Industry（2021-2025）” issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology，the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the National Health Commission，“By 2025，the scientific and technological support capabilities of the smart health and elderly care industry will be significantly enhanced，and products and services will be enhanced. The supply capacity has been significantly improved，the results of pilot demonstration construction have become increasingly prominent，and the industrial ecology has been continuously optimized and improved.” Based on the policy orientation and development situation，this paper provides a series of reasonable suggestions for Shenzhen to build a smart and sustainable old-age care service system，and finally to solve the mentioned issues of Shenzhen’s smart old-age care development.
