Facing the severe tests brought by COVID-19 and the complex and volatile situations at home and abroad，Xiamen coordinated the prevention and control of COVID-19，promptly introduced various policies and measures，and promoted the resumption of work and production in an orderly manner. With that，its economic and social recovery presented strong momentum，key industries continued to improve，economic operations generally showed a steady growth trend，and economic development was better than expected. In 2020，Xiamen’s GDP growth rate ranked from the 4^th in the first quarter to the 2^nd in the whole year in Fujian Province，and its growth rate has led China’s sub-provincial cities for two consecutive years. Overall，Xiamen’s industrial development quality was further improved，economic growth resilience was significantly increased，strategic emerging industries grew steadily，new development engines continued to strengthen，and the guarantees for people’s livelihood became more solid. Although positive factors continue to accumulate，uncertainties remain. Xiamen also needs to adhere to both prevention and control of COVID-19 and economic development，exert efforts from both ends of supply and demand，actively integrate into the new pattern of domestic and international dual-circulation development，focus on innovation，improve the weak aspects，improve the abilities to turn crises into opportunities，and make layout in advance for high-quality development.
