2020 is a very special year in the history of international investment. Affected by the impact of protectionism and COVID-19，global foreign direct investment has fallen sharply to the lowest level since 2005. Despite the difficult circumstances，China’s foreign direct investment has grown，ranking number one globally for the first time. Especially in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative，investment and cooperation on the Belt and Road has continuously grown. The Chinese economy puts equal emphasis on “Bringing In” and “Going Out”，and the introduction of foreign capital has achieved increases in the total amount，growth rate，and global proportion of foreign investment. Foreign-invested enterprises have achieved a win-win situation in their investment and operations in China. Looking into the future of Chinese enterprises globalization，in terms of foreign investment，Chinese enterprises are facing a changing environment. With China joining RCEP and applying to join CPTPP，a new round of international economic and trade rules is being reshaped. A new economy is emerging，as well as opportunities for investment and cooperation with different regions. In terms of introducing foreign capital，interest in foreign investment in China has not diminished. China has a strong attraction to foreign investment in terms of policies，resources and efficiency. China has created many platforms to attract foreign investment，and encourages foreign investment in the service industry，the digital economy，and new energy. By summarizing the above trends，CCG puts forward suggestions to continue promoting Chinese enterprises to “Go Out” and “Bring In”.
