In 2020，the 14^th National Winter Games of the People’s Republic of China will be held in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region，bringing a historical opportunity for the development of the skiing industry in the Region. In this Paper，taking the skiing industry of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as the research object，the author starts from the relationship between the distribution of skiing in the Region and the economic development of industrial regions，systematically sorts out the basic situations and advantages of the Region’s skiing industry development based on the analysis on the existing skiing resources and industrial conditions in the Region，and puts forward the main paths for the industry：Integrate advantageous resources and develop characteristic brands of skiing industry；Serve the Winter Olympic Games and the coordinated development of Beijing，Hebei and Inner Mongolia Region；Learn from the successful experiences at home and abroad to realize the deep integration of skiing industry；Speed up the talents training of skiing industry；Do a good job in heritage protection and development of the 14^th National Winter Games. Finally，the author analyzes the possible impact arising from the postponement of the 14^th National Winter Games due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
