Talent is the most critical element for the development of surveying & mapping and geoinformation industry. This paper analyzed the current situation and existing problems of undergraduate cultivation in geoinformation science in China in the new era，and systematically explored the measures and methods of cultivating a new generation of innovative high-quality geography talents with international perspectives and mastering the application of high-tech geosciences. Based on the practice of Capital Normal University’s geoinformation science first-class professional talent cultivation in the collaboration of science and education and internationalization，the construction and progress of the geoinformation science professional talent cultivation system were discussed，which may be a reference for other related universities.
