This article takes the data news team and its production practices of The Paper as the object of investigation. Through the author’s participation，observation，and a large amount of first-hand information，the data journalism practice of The Paper isdivided into three stages：“convergence reporting，data-driven，and brand values”. With case studies and summaries，the author explained the story pitch principles of Mei Shu Ke，the data news section of The Paper，and took the data journalism practice of The Paper as a typical case to investigate the localization and development of data journalism in China.
