<<COVID-19 pandemic has caused great impact on the economic development of African Francophone countries. The main performance is that the GDP growth of African Francophone countries in 2020 has dropped sharply, the consumption and tourism have shrunk greatly, falling commodity prices have led to a sharp drop in exports, the increase of fiscal deficit and the expansion of debt scale have further increased the proportion of public debt to GDP,and making it more difficult to achieve inclusive economic growth. After the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic,African Francophone countries have taken active measures to prevent and control the pandemic, limiting its sustained impact on the economy, and adopted active fiscal and monetary policies and sought external assistance to promote economic recovery and resolve the debt crisis. Although there are some uncertainties in the economic recovery prospects of African Francophone countries, their economic growth will gradually return to the normal growth range with the easing of pandemic situation and the rising of commodity prices.
