Based on 12.059 million submitted first pages of inpatient medical records from general hospitals，traditional Chinese medicine hospitals and specialized hospitals in Guangdong Province in 2020，which were grouped by CN-DRG grouper（2019 version），DRG comprehensive evaluation was conducted on private hospitals in aspects of capacity，efficiency and safety in this study. Besides，dimensions including DRG with the top 10 hospital discharges，DRG with the top 10 weights，the top 10 general hospitals in CMI and DRG with complications were combined to illustrate the necessity and benefits of private hospitals to implement differentiation development. This study can provide reference for the sustainable development for private hospitals as well as raise awareness of ensuring data quality of the first page of medical record and strengthening the full management of medical record.
