The main function zone strategy is an important part of the construction of ecological civilization and an inevitable choice for the construction of ecological civilization. It is of great significance to the sustainable development of the Chinese nation. Establishing a balanced and appropriate urban and rural construction space system and formulating a “multi-plan integration” national land and space plan are the core measures to promote the implementation of the main function zone strategy. This paper summarizes the current achievements of China ecological civilization construction，focus on policy development context of the main function zone strategy and the development pattern of the land space. Then it starts from the China requirements for the main function zone strategy，clarifying the main function zone，optimizing the territorial space planning，and overall planning the “Three-zone，Three-line”. At last，this paper proposes the safeguard measures.
